Improve Your Online Presence with Free Directory Listings

Improve Your Online Presence with Free Directory Listings

One of the most important and effective ways to boost your websites results on search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing is to get other websites to link to it. The more websites that refer people to yours, the higher it will begin to rank.

Below are some good directories that offer FREE listings and I recommend for building links to a website.

In addition to these websites, you should search out any others that you find are more relevant to your business, including any suppliers you may have or special groups you are a member of.

Do a Google search for your websites keywords and see what other directories, forums and websites show up. If they offer the facility to submit your own website, you should do so.

At the very least, submit your website to the below directories:

*If not in Dorset, search for you own local business website directory.

Be aware, that although the above websites all offer free listings, you may get a call from a salesperson trying to upgrade your listing or promise you something wonderful. My advice, just politely say no – Ask that the free listing is activated and you will contact them if you wish to upgrade in the future.

In addition to regular websites and directories, don’t forget to make sure your website is listed on Google Maps, and you also set up accounts on Social Media with frequent posts linking to your website from Facebook and Twitter.
