The
Actual Treatment
|

|
You
will be welcomed into a comfortable and private
treatment room.
Your first appointment will require a
full consultation for which there is no extra
charge.
After removing your footwear and socks
(no more!) you lay on a couch and are covered
with a blanket to promote a feeling of warmth
and comfort.
Gentle music will play to enhance your
relaxation through the treatment.
I
then use my hands to initially massage the feet
to begin the relaxation process and allow the
client to get use to my touch.
|
I promise it does not tickle!
Then by what we call ‘compression massage’, I
apply gentle pressure to the feet to determine whether
there are any blockages which correspond to another area
of the body causing ill health. The
aim of the Reflexologist is to release those blockages
to restore better wellbeing of the client.
Hand
reflexology can alternatively be administered although,
as the foot is a larger organ to the hand, reflexology
on the feet is preferred.
It is also far less intrusive than hand
reflexology whereby the therapist would need to position
herself much closer to the client, hence invading
personal space.
Symptoms
sometime felt by the client are a tingling sensation,
pins and needles in the hands (very rare and temporary),
and a dry mouth.
The client may also feel a slight tenderness on
certain points of the feet which again would be
temporary.
Most of all you will have a wonderful feeling of
relaxation, possibly to the point of sleeping. Snoring
is allowed!
